IMPACT PROJECT AT THE PARISH CENTRE
For a number of weeks during last October and November las year the Impact Group from Millbank Youth Centre spent Tuesdays in the company of St. Helen's Church.

Impact is made up of teenagers who are long term excluded from school and their time with us formed part of their citizen and enterprise projects giving the church an opportunity to show them that there are people who are for them and will commit them some time and care.

During their time with us they cleared the front of the Parish Centre, removing unsightly bushes, putting sand and cement in the patio cracks and creating a small garden in the corner of the patio. They also made an excellent pudding and shortbread biscuits for the senior citizens' lunch club and joined them for Mass and lunch.

The highlight of their involvement, however, was their participation with the Jolly Tots group over a number of weeks helping with crafts and games and reading stories to the under 5s as well as making a buffet lunch for the tots and their mums.

Over the course of the project the young people showed a huge amount of responsibilty, excellent behaviour and a great deal of respect to the church and all whom they met

For more details of any of the above please phone Gareth , our Youth Worker, on 07837956030
