The Children's Society 2009

The Children’s Society news for 2009

As ever it is a pleasure to thank everyone for their interest and support for the Children’s Society throughout the past year and we have great pleasure in showing in the table below the amounts raised during 2009
.
Our Christingle service was as ever a happy family gathering with friends and neighbours filling the Church, Copeland Road and St.Helen’s Schools brought their choirs and members of staff, making a special village occasion, drawing us together in our ancient Parish Church. The singing was a treat.
Our own uniformed organisations took part as ever, with readings, prayers and general assistance where required. Thanks to all!

Other News from the Society magazine.
*Did you know that the Co-operative Society raised £2.3million for Children’s Society in just nine months!
*Have you read about the Safe House for young runaways which opened its doors in October 2007 in Newcastle city centre. The aim is to keep young runaways safe and to provide a shelter from the perils of a big city at night. There are trustworthy adults on hand to listen to their problems and hopefully find a chance of offering reliable advice and encouragement.
What an amazing society to support. Thank you again for your prayers, concern and giving.
May Peace be with you all.
