The Children's Society 2007

Another year has quickly gone by and another opportunity to thank all who have given support to the Society.

In November we sadly said our farewells to Vera Suddick who had been a very loyal supporter over many years but who had been seriously ill and died while staying with her family in southern England

It is encouraging to report that we now have three new boxholders on our list of those who so graciously support us.

The children's Christingle Service was, as ever, a most happy and splendid occasion. We were joined by Copeland Road School choir who sang a selection of carols. We were pleased to welcome their headteacher, Mr. Robin Nodding, members of staff and many of the parents.Scouts, cubs, beavers, guides, brownies and rainbows as well as their families were in attendance too so every pew in the church was fully occupied. The singing of "Away in a Manger" with the church lit by candlelight has become a memory which will be long cherished.

The following table shows the amount of money raised in 2007

January to May
£334.55
June to November
£372.00
Christingle Collection
£109.00
Total
£815.55
